"Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days."(Is 39:8)
God extended His mercy on Hezekiah for another fifteen years and instead of walking humbly before the Lord and doing His noble work, King Hezekiah did a terrible mistake that would affect his descendants. King Hezekiah had some state guests from Babylon. They represented King Merodachbaladan of Babylon as they heard of the miracle Hezekiah received in the death bed. They came with gifts and letters from the king of Babylon. An elated Hezekiah instead of giving God the glory showed all the items he owned. He did not leave anything ,he showed it all to the emissaries from Babylon. Hezekiah showed the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: Prophet Isaiah who heard this came with another message from the Lord. All what he displayed to the emissaries ,all what his fathers stored for centuries would be taken away to Babylon. His children would be taken captive and be made Eunuchs. King Hezekiah instead of repenting and asking God for grace ,was unperturbed as he was happy that his reign would end in peace. When God gives a blessing, don't boast and show off in social media platforms and showcase it to the wide world. Give Him the glory with a thankful heart. Your actions are seeds and your generations will reap the fruit. The onus is on us to usher in a revival in this generation and season where we are living by giving God all the glory and shutting out the enemy!
