"Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations:spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;"(Isaiah 54:2)
The people predominantly lived in tents those days. They used to extend their tents when children were added to the family. They did by sewing another piece of sheet on the end and lengthening the cords . As they did this they had to also strengthen the stakes so that the structure withstood the extra load. That was a sign of blessing. In the Bible we see God enlarging the tents by blessing the womb. Jerusalem was in the worst of situations as the babylonian captivity brought the city to its knees. Ravaged, ransacked and empty of its people noone gave a it a remote chance to be built back. Yet of all the cities in the world, Jerusalem still exists as a wonder to the whole world. Its one of the few ancient cities that's still buzzing with life. You might be going through the same situation. Noone may give you a chance of your comeback. Setbacks must have laid you off. Stay strong and faithful to the Lord, He is just and faithful to build you up. Enlarge the place of your tent. God is strong to pour out His blessings and you will have no room to contain it. The problem many have is, when the Lord blesses them they do not lengthen their cords. They do not increase in their operational level with regard to faithfulness in the local church they are placed in or are not involving in the work of the Lord. When the Lord blesses us we should be more strong in our foundations. Many have given blessings as an excuse for the work of the Lord and that is a dangerous spot. As the Lord blesses your barren state, be more committed to Him. Be rooted in His word as you are going to spread across all directions.
